In the midst of medical crises and hospitalizations, many families confront not only the health challenges of their children but also the daunting task of meeting everyday needs. Contributions to Penn State Health Children's Week funds the Patient Assistance Endowment, helping provide vital assistance, from securing transportation to covering essential medications and medical supplies.

When Kenny was born, he turned blue as he gasped for air. He was rushed to Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, where his parents learned he had hypoplastic left heart syndrome and needed lifesaving surgery. Throughout his stay, his parents experienced a whirlwind of emotions, from worry to exhaustion.
Kenny's mom, Pam, shared how the CMN Patient Assistance Endowment helped to ensure that their family had meals and medical supplies, letting them focus on their son's recovery. Knowing their basic needs were taken care of made all the difference when everything felt so uncertain.
Today, she's an employee of the Children’s Hospital and shares, "I get to witness how CMN helps families – just like mine – in their time of need. And it’s through the generosity of donors that families facing the challenges of a sick child can find comfort."
