In loving memory of Ashley Fearson

In memory for Ashley Frearson, her life, and her love for children, she requested donations in lieu of flowers to Penn State Childrens Hospital through Childrens Miracle Network.

As Ashley Frearson was treated for her own cancer, she loved people: the nurses who served her, the doctors who asked questions, the patients who sat with her during infusions. She wanted to know how fellow patients were: Who brought you today? Are you alone? How's it going for you? Do you need a blanket? Their needs were of greater concern than her own.

But Ashley went further than that, asking her brother, John, "How can we love children diagnosed with cancer? How can we bless them?" She loved children: her own three were her joy, and she loved them as a teacher - first as an elementary teacher, and then as a preschool teacher. She loved their honesty, their hilariousness, their unpredictability, and their affection. And how they loved her. Arms around her neck, eager faces looking up, sharing their delights.

Penn State Children’s Hospital is the only Level 1 trauma hospital between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia fully equipped to treat the most severely ill and injured children of  Central Pennsylvania.

Funds raised through CMN are allocated at Penn State Children's Hospital to provide equipment, research and patient services.  CMN is onsite at the Hospital everyday, supporting the families in any possible way from laundry care and meals, to being there for these kids in their deepest emotional and psychological needs.

The money you give goes to support family-centered programs, life-saving equipment, and transformative research to help provide the best possible care to sick and injured children in our community.
